UVC light breaks up the genetic material (DNA) of bacteria in air, water and on hard surfaces so they can no longer function or reproduce. It’s a natural germicide that has been used to disinfect hospital room surfaces, public places, money and drinking water. In aquariums, UVC light kills suspended bacteria and algae that contribute to cloudy or murky water. Connects in-line to all canister filter hosing with an internal diameter of 5/8″ (or 16mm), including all Fluval 07 and 06 Series canister filters.
