Product Description

Adafruit Add-on kits for Raspberry Pi - Adafruit ADA4567, The Adafruit ADA4567 2.23" Monochrome OLED Bonnet for Raspberry Pi is a must-have if you're looking for a bright, readable, OLED display, ready to snap onto any Raspberry Pi computer to provide a vivid display. This Bonnet comes with a 2.13" diagonal monochrome 128 x 32 OLED, with sharp white pixels. The OLED has I2C pins, plus GPIO #4 for reset, so you have plenty of GPIO connections available for buttons, LEDs, and sensors. The product will mount to your Pi perfectly flat, so many cases that have an open top can have this display inserted. Compared to the similar PiOLED display, this OLED has the same resolution but is much larger, so it can be read from increased distances. This is supported by the display producing its own light, meaning there is no requirement for a backlight. This reduces the power required to run the OLED and is why the display has such high contrast and a crisp image. Using the display is very easy, Adafruit has a Python library for the SSD1305 chipset. The examples contain code that allows you to draw images, text, and much more, using the Python imaging library. Adafruit's tests additionally showed 30 FPS update rates so you can even create and sample animations or simple videos. On the bottom of the display, there is a Qwiic/STEMMA QT connector for I2C sensors and devices so you can plug and play any STEMMA QT device. The Monochrome OLED Comes completely pre-assembled and tested so you don't need to do anything but plug it in and install the Python code!
