Product Description

AquaCare's Marine Elimi-Tasia is an easy to use treatment for combating pest Aiptasia and Majano anemones in the marine aquarium. Aiptasia are a common pest in marine aquariums, sometimes called Glass, Rock or Tube Anemones which multiply at a phenomenal rate and aggressively compete for food and space. They are often introduced to the aquarium unintentionally on live rock or coral colonies. They look like very small semi-transparent palm trees with a polyp body and a mouth disc surrounded by an abundance of slim tentacles. There are a few different species most are translucent, but a couple are brown or tan due to their symbiosis with zooxanthellae. These anemones sting as a defence mechanism and will also withdraw into holes in the live rock. They can reproduce sexually or asexually so can rapidly spread through an aquarium.  It can be easily applied into the oral disk of the anemone which stimulates it to ingest the material without causing it to withdraw. The ingesting of the treatment by the anemone will destroy both the anemone and its larvae. This treatment is safe for use in a reef tank as it will not affect the sessile polyps of corals.
