Product Description

Maison Louis Latour is synonymous with Burgundy wine. The business was first established in the 1790s, right in the heart of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious spot, Aloxe-Corton. Wines from the nearby slopes of Montagne de Corton were famous long before they were granted Grand Cru status in 1937, and of all the producers here, Latour own the most land. This is made from five of their domaine’s vineyards – Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves, Clos du Roi and Chaumes – from vines with an average age of over 40 years. Corton’s structured Pinots are unrivalled in finesse and this is no exception. Wine Spectator gave it an impressive 92 points. Expect aromas of black cherry, liquorice, coffee and clove, plus bold flavours of blackcurrant and clove, silky tannins and a persistent finish. Its structure and savoury character makes it ideal for game dishes and mature cheeses. If stored correctly – and you can resist drinking it – it will continue to develop until 2028.
