Taylor's Very Very Old Tawny Port / Platinum Jubilee Edition

Tasting Notes To commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen Taylor's have created a limited-edition Very Very Old Tawny Port. It's a sublime wine to celebrate an extraordinary reign. On the 6th February 2022 Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to reach the milestone of 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom. So a wine to mark that momentous occasion needed to be very special indeed. The blenders at Taylor's Port (a Royal Warrant Holder to Her Majesty The Queen) individually selected the most exquisite components from their extensive reserves. Each element had spent decades ageing in wood and some had been there since the Queen succeeded to the throne. It pours a rich mahogany colour erupting from the glass with heady notes of roasted coffee cigar box gingerbread marzipan quince butterscotch rose petal heather honey leather polished oak star anise cardamom and marmalade. Mature and powerful but alive with freshness and elegance.; Chill Taylor's Platinum Jubilee Edition Very Very Old Tawny Port lightly and consider pairing with flavours like fig almond or caramel. However we think that walnut baklava or crème brûlée might be the ultimate match. Whatever you choose this highly collectable bottle is the perfect way to raise a toast to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Taylor's is the archetypal Port house synonymous with this style of wine. This is proven by the Royal Warrant it holds as one of the Suppliers of Port Wine to Her Majesty The Queen. Although steeped in history as you would expect of a family-run business established in 1692 the forward-thinkers at Taylor's are also committed to sustainable viticulture and have installed solar panels on three of their properties.
