We recommend using hot soapy water to clean the interior of your chiminea. Rinse off the soap and dry the chiminea completely as this can prevent rusting overtime. We also recommend applying a thin coat of vegetable oil after each burn to preserve your chiminea. We recommend storing in a dry, frost-free area when not in use. Over time, the chiminea will rust, which is completely normal and adds to the traditional chiminea charm.
