Nishikoi Clear Waters Sludge Remover provides a biological solution for a cleaner pond. The build-up of sludge or silt on the pond base can build up overtime from various sources such as fish waste, rotting vegetation, dead algae and fallen leaves to name just a few. Left unattended the sludge will reduce vital oxygen essential for life within the pond, create excessive biological oxygen demand and encourage the build-up of nitrates and phosphates which in turn promotes excessive algae growth. The situation is made worse by fish searching for food within the sludge and therefore constantly stirring up the debris giving the water a dirty haze and lack of clarity. Clear Waters Sludge Remover contains natural heterotrophic bacteria which when added to the pond instantly start to consume the sludge in a harmless way, which in turn reduces nitrate and phosphates and improves the overall health and cleanliness of the pond.
