A Carbon filter is needed when your cooker hood is installed for air recirculation and not vented to the outside world. The air collected by your cooker hood is firstly passed through your grease filter (which removes the grease) and then through the carbon filter. This then cleverly helps to significantly reduce the amount of unpleasant odours released back into the room. To ensure your cooker hood works to its best potential here at Caple we highly recommend that carbon filters are changed every 3 to 6 months depending upon usage. Guarantee 6 month manufacturers guarantee against manufacturing defects. The guarantee does not cover damage caused during fitting, or caused by poor installation or servicing, accidental or malicious damage, improper use or negligence, discoloration due to long exposure to sunlight or UV lights, and general wear and tear to the item and or working parts of the item (for example, the valve in a tap, shower heads, washers, seals, any item that would be expected to be replaced periodically during the life of the item).
