Gardeners Dream Carex Form - Striking Foliage, Evergreen, Hardy (25-35Cm Height Including Pot) Bronze

Carex are evergreen decorative grasses forming a mound of fine leaves with outstanding foliage colours. Bronze Form is a native New Zealand Hair Sedge that features drooping or pendulous leaves in bronze colours throughout the year. It is a very versatile plant that suits well in garden containers in a rock garden. In summers, it blooms tiny brown flowers and its evergreen foliage adds winter interest. In late summer, brown flower spikes appear but they are inconspicuous and do not carry any fragrance either. It is the texture of its foliage that attracts the eye. The narrow hair-like leaves form a low mound of reddish brown leaves that look very ornamental and beautiful. It provides a stunning contrast for other plants, especially when decorated with white marbles and gravels. Bronze Hair Sedge is a tough grass. It will adapt to any soil be it acid, alkaline, chalky or clay, provided that it is well-drained. No shrubs prefer waterlogged soil in winter. It will enjoy full sun or partial shade and can tolerate exposed windy spots in a garden. Carex Comans is such a carefree architectural grass that requires low maintenance and upkeep. Water it moderately in summer and add a general-purpose feed annually. Removing any dead or damaged leaves will encourage new growth. Bronze Hair Sedge is ideal as edging in rock gardens. It fits best in containers where its mound spreads like a gorgeous fountain. Use them in a group planting as a groundcover at steep slopes or in the middle of a border. These are perfect accent plants for beds and borders especially near ponds. Water & Maintenance: Average watering required, low maintenance shrubs Growth & Spread: Height 0.5m - 1m, Spread 0.5m - 1m Flourishing Season: Flourishes all-round the year, flowers in June - July Characteristics: Evergreen shrubs, forms perfect architectural mound, narrow bronze leaves, tiny brown flowers, suitable for edging in rock garden
