Our IR system is suitable for use with all major brands of remote control including universal remote controls. Up to two IR receivers can be used with this hub by using a 3.5mm stereo splitter adapter in the IR receiver socket. When two IR receivers are being used we recommend only extending the IR receiver cables up to 15 metres each. When only one IR receiver is being used, we recommend not exceeding 30 metres for the total cable length To extend an IR receiver cable, a '3.5mm extension cable' should be used, alternatively you can make your own cable to a set length by using, CAT5 cable and 3.5mm stereo plug and socket connectors. IR emitters should be positioned in front of, above, below or fixed on to the IR receiver. IR receivers should be positioned in the room where you would like to control your equipment from.
