Product Description

Easy to grow, this newly bred form has an enticing and traditional aniseed flavour. With improved resistance to bolting, you will see outstanding yields of large, smooth and pure white bulbs. With attractive foliage that makes a tasty addition to salads or as a garnish, this can also be used for treating ailments or as a compress for softening rough and chapped hands. Direct sow fennels seeds outdoors from March to July into well prepared soil in full sun when temperatures reach around 13-18C (55-64F). Sow seeds thinly into drills 1cm (½") deep and 38cm (15") apart. When fennel seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to 30cm (12") apart. Make regular sowings for a successional harvest. When growing fennel, keep plants well watered, particularly during hot, dry periods. Fennel leaves can be harvested at any time. For fennel seeds, allow the flowers to fade and harvest once the seed heads have fully ripened. The tasty stems can be cut when they reach tennis ball size. Product Specifications: Position: Full sun Height: up to 60cm (24in) Spread: up to 45cm (18in) Supplied as 1 Packet of 250 Seeds. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
