Thompson & Morgan Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ is a beautiful, deciduous shrub that takes centre stage in the garden. From early summer, a profusion of single cup-shaped blooms, with a delicate centre splash of lilac, infuse the air with a fabulous orange blossom perfume. The fragrant blooms of Thompson & Morgan Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ are ideal for enticing wildlife into your garden, attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. This RHS AGM variety has a restrained growth habit, and makes a useful large shrub for wildlife and woodland gardens, and even copes well in coastal conditions. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded position when growing Thompson & Morgan Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ and plant in any well-drained soil. Incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting, and plant Mock Orange plants at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil. Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant in spring. Thompson & Morgan Philadelphus ‘Belle Etoile’ requires very little pruning. After flowering, cut back to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level. Refunds
