Thompson & Morgan 24 X Lavender 'Hidcote' Plug Plants Kb8043

A bushy, compact habit and rich purple blooms on neat, upright stems, not to mention the powerful fragrance, makes this wonderful variety of English Lavender so particularly attractive. Lavender 'Hidcote' is one of the best-known and smartest-looking English Lavenders available, and is prized for its long-standing, excellent and reliable garden performance. This gorgeous variety loves a sunny spot and can thrives in dry conditions. It's compact shape and size makes it a great choice for growing in a patio container as well as in the border or as a fragrant low hedge. The deep-purpose flowers are produced continuously from mid-summer onwards and will attract bees and butterflies. Lavender 'Hidcote' will suit any style, sitting just as comfortably in a contemporary or formal outside space as it does in a traditional cottage or wildlife garden. If you like to pick flowers from the garden to display indoors, these are a great choice, with a long vase life and rich colour that fades very slowly. These heavily scented blooms are also perfect for drying. Grow English lavender plants in free draining soil. Choose a position in full sun. Lavenders dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. When growing English lavender in large patio containers, use a well-drained soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. After planting, prune lavender plants to encourage bushy growth. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 60cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 75cm when fully established. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
