Acer Dissectum Patio Tree Size: 70-80cm (Incl. Pot)

Acer palmatum 'Dissectum' ornamental trees present lovely palmately-lobed leaves and small flowers. During Spring and Summer, the tree will show lush green and purplish-red foliage before turning into vibrant and bright yellow, orange and red colours through Autumn! These deciduous trees are fairly low maintenance and only require light pruning between November - March and regular watering during the hot months. Having a recent 'RHS Award of Garden Merit', these trees are very popular in British gardens. They are best suited in small gardens, patios, borders or mixed containers. They also look fantastic next to ponds! Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth. Acer palmatum 'Dissectum' are hardy and bushy ornamental trees which produce deeply-cut green leaves with hints of purplish-red in Spring before turning into vibrant shades of bright yellow, orange and red in Autumn. Trained into a ‘lollipop’ single stem, this Acer tree is perfect to sit solitary in small gardens, patios, borders or mixed containers. These deciduous trees will thrive in moist, well-drained soil - preferable loam, clay, sand or chalk soil. 'Dissectum' is a low-growing species, so to achieve strong coloured leaves, it's best to situate in partially shaded areas, however, they are full sun tolerant. Either of these positions will give it the best opportunity to thrive. Due to the trees hardy and bushy structure, they’re a fairly low maintenance plant to monitor. It’s recommended to prune lightly towards the end of Winter/early Spring to encourage fresh, variegated growth and to maintain shape form for the following season. The tree requires regular watering until it has been established in their new environment, then just average watering after it's settled in. Be sure not to over-hydrate and make sure the tree doesn't dry out. Acer palmatum trees are valued all year round for their stunning display of bright coloured leaves and foliage. Emerging in Spring with maturing shades green with little hints of purple & red, giving it a fresh look for you garden. As Autumn hits, the tree will form into what looks like a different tree - a very vibrant look with bright yellow, orange and red colours which will dominate the tree - making it very pleasing to the eye.
