Astrantia Buckland Size: 10-30cm (Incl. Pot)

Upright stems up to 1 metre and lovely flower displays with distinctive colours. The Astrantia Buckland, also known as Masterwort, is an early flowering herbaceous perennial shrub with deeply cut leaves of mid-green and slender, wiry stems which hold umbels of tiny, pale-pink flowers which sit surrounded by pink-tinged silver bracts which appear from early Summer and last throughout. A great option for woodland displays and cottage gardens. Plant in moist, humus-rich, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full or partial sun in a sheltered position. These flowers are sterile and should not self-seed, so plant near other Astrantia to allow propagation. Tolerates drier soils and conditions once established. Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Herbaceous plants die back below the soil in the Winter and may be supplied in their dormant state during this time. Fresh growth will be seen the following Spring. Characteristics: Bushy, upright herbaceous perennial with clumping, deeply cut, mid-green foliage beneath stems holding panicles of pink-white flowers surrounded by colourful bracts in Summer. Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 to 1m and spread of 0.1 to 0.5m. Period of Interest: Summer interest. Tall, slender stalks carrying umbels of tiny, pale-pink florets surrounded by silver bracts from early Summer. Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils. Keep in full or partial sun in a sheltered position. Flowers are sterile and cannot self-seed. Tolerates drier conditions once established.
