Blueberry Nelson, also known as Vaccinium Corymbosum, is a heavy cropping variety of blueberry plant. These fruit plants have deciduous, green foliage which turns fiery orange and red in autumn, before dying off each winter. In spring, when leaves return, small, bell-shaped, white flowers bloom before a plentiful crop of berries begins to ripen from mid to late summer. This variety of blueberry plant produces large, greyish blue, firm, and beautifully sweet and flavoursome berries. Blueberries are packed with vitamins and antioxidants, and they are fabulous for making preserves, adding to muffins and pies or for adding to pancakes. Blueberry plants will grow best in moist, well-drained, acidic soil planted beside another blueberry plant to increase pollination.
