The Super Reptile spiral nebula UVB bulbs are available in a range of UVB outputs and wattages. Please select the required wattage and UVB output from the drop down menus when ordering. The UVB output helps prevent or reverse metabolic bone disease in captive reptiles. These bulbs have a 30% UVA output to increase appetite and stimulate mating in captive reptiles. These bulbs are made from special UV transmitting quartz glass. The spiral nebula 2.0 UV output is a general light source with a high visual light output and a very high colour rendering index (CRI), but a lower UVB radiation. This bulb is suitable for snakes, all amphibians (frogs, toads and salamanders) and nocturnal animals. The spiral nebula 5.0 UV has a moderate to high UVB output, similar to that of shady environments such as rain forests and other tropical locations. The spiral nebula 10.0 UV has a very high UVB output similar to that associated with desert environments. Desert locations receive more direct sunlight than any other because of fewer clouds, less air humidity and no plants or trees to provide shade.
