Made by Hines of Oxford, this fine quality cotton jacquard loom woven tapestry is inspired by the famous \u2018Tree of Life\u2019 design by William Morris, is lined and incorporates a rod-pocket at the top for hanging as a wall decoration or could also be framed as a piece of art.
Measures 68 cm (high) x 48 cm (wide). This quality tapestry fabric is woven by craftsman weavers in Flanders and then the wall hanging is finished by a family firm in England.
The traditional technique of weaving
tapestries was revived by William Morris in the last quarter of the 19th
Century through his firm of Morris & Co whose workshops were at Merton
Abbey in Surrey. This revival of the \u2018Decorative Arts' style was influenced in
part by the Medieval Tapestries of the 15th Century.
