Firstly, the crochet section of the pattern is designed for you to create a dainty pair of gloves in open crochet work decorated with rose like flowers which are added separately. Originally this project was completed in a 3-ply shetland wool using a No.12 crochet hook. However, you may wish to try a modern 4-ply, as vintage yarns were heavier than modern, but do work a tension square first and change hook as necessary to obtain the tension stipulated in the pattern.
For the knitters, you can make a stylish pair of simple ribbed gloves with gauntlets in an open picot stitch. Sometimes 'less is more'! and these gauntlet style gloves can only enhance your vintage outfit.
