This is a wonderful 40's knitting pattern for a lady's beautiful twin set consisting of short sleeved jumper and long sleeved cardigan, with the Fair Isle pattern simply knitted in three contrasting shades and as well as the main colour. The jumper is designed to fit a 31 inch bust, but will stretch up to a 33 inch bust, with the cardigan fitting approx. a 34 inch bust once the fronts are buttoned up. Both items were originally knitted in 3-ply wool on No.10 and No.12 needles, however, you may wish to create this jumper in a modern 4-ply, as vintage yarns were heavier than modern, but do work a tension square before embarking on your project to see if a change of needles is needed to obtain the correct tension.
