Bat Box Kit - Plywood - L9 x W16 x H33 cm

What better way to introduce bats to children (and adults!) than building their own bat boxes from a self-assembly kit.Our bat box kits provide you with pre-cut panels, the nails and screws required and simple to follow instructions. No sawing required - all you need is a hammer and a screwdriver and you can enjoy building your own bat house.Natural bat roosts are becoming more scarce as the landscape changes. A batbox can help bats by providing a roost in areas where other sites are lacking. Our bat box kits allow you to provide an ideal roost site for the most common bat in the UK, the Common Pipistrelle bat. Once constructed, each bat box kit will provide a long lasting dry, draught free (very important for bats) roost site.Bat boxes can be mounted on both buildings and trees. Try to position your box as high as possible in a sheltered, sunny place. Ideally, several boxes should be put up facing in different directions to provide a range of conditions.Bats need time to find and explore new homes, and it may be several years before boxes have residents – be patient! Droppings on the landing area, and chittering noises from inside on warm afternoons and evenings are signs of occupation. The bat box kits are available singly and in packs of ten and packs of thirty. The larger packs are great for group activities or events, and offer valuable savings. When sold in singles or as packs of 10, the kits are packed as separate self contained sets, whilst the packs of 30 are supplied in bulk, and will need sorting into separate kits for assembly.Features:Enjoy assembling your own bat boxes without having to worry about getting the sizes right. These bat box kits are ideal for kids (and adults too!).Each pack contains all the components you need to make your own bird box (just add hammer and screwdriver). All the panels for these bird nesting boxes are pre-cut from exterior grade plywood.Easy to follow instructions (no experience of DIY required).Specifications:Panels: Exterior Grade PlywoodSundries: Nails, screw (hole boxes only), sandpaper, instructionsFinish: Unfinished: You may may like to apply a non-toxic water based stain and preservative after making the boxFixing: 2 fixing holes in top corners of back panelDimensions and WeightDimensions: Overall height: 33cm, Overall width: 16cm, Overall Depth: 9cm (Finished box)1.1kg
