Assouline 'amalfi Coast' - Books And City Guides Purple 4

Editions Assouline Book Multicoloured Paper. Dimensions: 25 x 33 cm - Thickness 4 cm. ATTENTION. Language: English. The Amalfi Coast is the pinnacle of the Italian dream. Nestled among lemon and bougainvillea trees, the Amalfi Coast is made up of thirteen towns. Known for their vertical landscape, the villages can only be reached via the Strada Statale 163 - a narrow, winding cliffside road that, although disturbing to cross, offers unrivalled views. This magical strip links the mountains with the Mediterranean Sea below. Aesthetes from all over the world flock here year after year to enjoy its picturesque pebble beaches, scenic hikes, perfect climate and legendary establishments, which are not limited to hotels and restaurants with an established history. From Amalfi Cathedral to Villa Rufolo in Ravello, all monuments evoke the culture and spirit of centuries past, and monuments enjoyed by the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy, John Steinbeck and Gore Vidal abound. With its characteristic limoncello, grown and enjoyed locally, its finest villas and breathtaking panoramas, the Amalfi Coast is in a class of its own. Carlos Souza is Valentino's global brand ambassador and a contributor to Architectural Digest with over forty years' experience in the world of art and fashion. His career as a photographer began at the request of Andy Warhol, who asked him to photograph fashion shows for Interview. He previously worked with Assouline on #Carlos's Places (2014) and Comporta Bliss (2018). Charlene Shorto was born in Recife, Brazil, and educated in Switzerland and the UK. She is married to Carlos Souza and has two sons, Sean and Anthony. The family moved to Rome, where Charlene worked tirelessly under fashion designer Valentino, eventually becoming director of Oliver by Valentino. Shorto also collaborated with Souza on Comporta Bliss (2018).
