of recent publication this is a rarely found account of one of Scotland\u2019s most
famous and controversial murder trials set in 1857. Is said to give the most complete picture of
the events surrounding this infamous case.
It reads in turns like a thriller, a love story and a courtroom drama. It quotes extensively from the correspondence
between Madeleine and her lover Emile L\u2019Angelier whose explicit content sop
shocked Victorian sensibilities.
Ultimately he leaves it to the reader to judge Madeleine\u2019s guilt or
innocence.

very good condition. It is an ex-library book but appears unread given the
tightness of the binding. There are a
couple of library codes on the printing history page. Otherwise the book is
clean and undamaged and is protected by a plastic library cover. .
